But like all good things, they must come to an end. How cliche of me. But yeah, we’re stopping production of ArenaCast.
As you can tell the past couple of episodes, or the fact we didn’t have a show for a full month, things have been sluggish and not as energy-filled as some of the episodes earlier in the summer. Me and Keith both decided that the amount of time and effort it takes to put into the show isn’t worth it anymore. With school starting back up, I know I’ve been busy. Keith can share his words on what he’s been busy with if he wants to — that’s up to him.
The Orangemarmalade show (if it happens, Orange hasn’t spoken to me in about a week) will be our final show. We’ll talk a little bit more about the fact we’re shutting down etc. If the Orange show does not actually happen then we will for sure have a final episode.
I want to thank all of our listeners and the small community we’ve started in #arenacast on irc.gamesurge.net — you guys were great. The IRC channel will remain there and I will continue to idle (and I’m sure Keith will as well).
I want to thank the people who criticized us along the way even more because without you guys we would of never known what was wrong with the show or what to improve on in the first place.
Thanks Bill (Lame) from Nurfed for helping with the hosting of the podcast for almost 9 months now. I cannot thank you enough. I also owe Jared and Ziot a lot of thanks as well for helping me get this (shit) site up and running. I’m sure I’m forgetting someone, I’ll prepare a better list for the final show and make sure I don’t miss anyone.

man, i really thought arenacast was going places. it was such a better environment for pvp analysis than the landfill of wowriot or circle jerk of AJ. I really hope you reconsider – maybe set up a less demanding schedule like monthly shows.

Really wish you guys would reconsider. Love listening to you guys, even if there isn’t much going on.
This is the only WoW podcast I really enjoyed. Tried to listen to others and it just wasn’t the same. As a listener it was definitely frustrating to deal with the inconsistencies of the weekly shows (and whether or not they happened) but you guys are insiders in the professional WoW coverage and you were able to go straight to the participants and get them involved in your show and that made it really fun to listen to.
I definitely understand the pressures of school and real life and if it can’t work out then so be it…. but maybe you could compromise and just do shows around tournament times? Maybe do a week before preview and a week after wrap up? It really added to the tournament experience to hear game plans and matchup predictions as well as post tournament commentary from people who were actually there both commentating and/or participating in the games

Change it to monthly shows then and record as you have free time during the month, or even only during tourneys.
Shutting this down is not a good decision, you have the best podcast available for wow, or any other game that comes out in the future.

Have to agree, shutting down AC is a pretty poor decision. Topflight wow arena coverage is pretty lame, Gotfrag doesn’t really publish any articles about anything wow-ish except around tourney time, theres a lot of shindiggery the rest of the time as well, and knowing what the trends are and getting input and feedback from sponsored players is pretty slick. If you started getting some live ladder players in the mix as well, it would be great. (WoW is more than just Blizzcon and MLG, imo). Perhaps a weekly show is just too demanding, biweekly or even monthly might be more plausible.
Ultimately though, if you can grind a warlock to 80 after just grinding a mage to 80 and all that other stuff, are you really trying to say you don’t have time for a weekly hour long Skype discussion? Really? :) /duck
